I just need a good venting

I do not think it is vein at all!!! I think you are suffering yet another loss this horrible disease imposes on you. As much as you hate it when people say “well you look good” even though you feel like total crap!! I think subconsciously you kinda think well at least I still have that going for me. So I think you are well justified in your anger, frustration, and sadness. I am thinking of you. I know it sucks!!! Best wishes.

HI Ann & Lablover..... I know that hurts. its sad ... they truly are apart of out family for mostdog lovers ...and when they are not with us- it is heart breaking.

We had to downsize major becuase of me not able to conitnue full time work.

And though it is not "all" my fault, i felt to blame when we had to rehome our lab of 6 years. She only knew us since 7 weeks... and it was heart breaking/

Not to know what her future would be had me in tears most days.

My husband nad i knew we did the right thing for her.

We now only rescue small dogs from people who are experiencing similar to us at the time.

They want to know the dog will be treated well and loved.

Soi have found a way to give back.

it makes my heart happy.

Dear Lablover,

I lost my Labradors. I was bothered when I lost my eyebrows many years ago, but I keep my hair cut very short because I spend so much time in the water. I am too photosensitive to go to the beach in the day time. For years some of the greatest times in my life have been hanging out on the beach and in the ocean with my dogs. When I developed the osteomalacia as a result of severe vitamin D deficiency, I could not walk well enough to take care of them and they had to go live with a new Mommie.

I am so glad that you love Labs because that means you know what a hole losing two of them has left in my life. I did the right thing. If they had stayed in the house with me they would have become vitamin D deficient also. I still miss the two GSD puppies that my Dad gave me when ln was four, so I am no where near replacing two taller than breed standard giant headed 90 pound attention seeking labs that entered my life in my 50s. I miss them.

DeAnn, we have Sally's around here. I will check them out. :)

Nathalie, thanks for the words of encouragement.

Sunshine, thank you and I am sorry to hear about your kidney function.

Ann and lifewithlupus, I cried for you losses. I had to put our old boy down two years ago and I got to be there to hold him. It was the most humbling experience I have ever had. We now have a 6yr old chocolate, Bailey, and a two year old terror, lab and Plott hound mix, Calvin. We got him when he was only 4wks from a rescue and I still don't understand that dog. Lol! It's got to be the hound in him.

On a lighter note everyone, my hairdresser had always tried to make me feel better by saying that the hair loss was not bad. But two visits ago I was kind of freaking out and she was very supportive as always, but when she was just about done with my cut she stopped and looked at my head and asked "how do you feel about bangs?" I thought that was the funniest thing. I laughed until I just about cried. She didn't get it, but when I told her that that was the most discrete way of saying that I needed to do something different to cover up the loss. I don't know why but it just struck me funny. lol. So I told her to go ahead and give me bangs. It helps to cover it but I said we will have to come up with something different if my bangs reach back to my crown! lol. I know, I sound crazy. Lol

Take care everyone,

wendy xx

Wendy,

I sure hope your bangs dont go to the crown! Big WINK!- i amLAUGHING over here.... not at.. but with you!

i remember when my sister lost the hair up top middle due to prednisone and all the meds for lupus. i did her hair... we were always trying soemthing new.

then i too was diagnosed with lupus and could nolonger wear my hair the same.

some of this is an age thing.. the other part is a lupus thing
