Hi after trying conceiving for 3 years, I finally found myself pregnant last weekend. So excited that i almost burst into tears. And surprisingly, my normal joint pain was gone these weeks.
Does anybody have same experience like this? My doctor suggested me to reduce plaquinel to 200mg from current 400mg per day. Not sure whether flare will come back if I reduce dosage. And worried flare may harm the baby.
Appreciate your guys pregnant experience for a new luppie( I was diagnosed last Sep which makes last year a disaster in my life).
I don't want to discourage you or make you scared so I'm not going to give you my story when I was pregnant. Just make sure that all your doctors are aware of the Lupus and any new symptoms you have or if you start to feel sick in any way go right in to see your Dr. I'm not telling you this part because I want to freak you out but you need to be aware that women with Lupus have a higher risk of having a miscarriage and either premature birth or the child having a low birth weight.
I delivered just short of a month and a half early. He is fine and completely healthy. Just try to get as much rest as possible. Try to stay off your feet as much as you can and really listen to your body more now then ever. I was on bed rest from my 2nd month until my water ruptured. You need more rest now then ever before. Congrats to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations on your pregnancy!!! I've never had children so can't help there, but my sister feels so much better while pregnant and she fully believes it has to do with hormones. She has not been diagnosed with anything specific, but she definitely appears to have autoimmune disorders.
Best of luck to you and your family!

Congratulations! I’m so excited for you. I have three boys, 17,15, & 7. I lost our daughter at 32 weeks between the 15 yo and 7 yo but that was because of the Sjogren’s Syndrome. I felt amazing when I was pregnant. Everything went into remission for the first time in my life. I’ve battled my various diseases since I was 6 so pregnancy was the first time I got to feel “normal”. It wasn’t until I got pregnant that I figured out that not everyone was in pain all the time. I just thought pain was normal so I never asked my doc about pain relief…lol. There are things that can go wrong but if you see a perinatologist (high risk obstetrician) then they can minimize the risk. I had to get ultrasounds every 3 weeks starting in the 2nd trimester and non-stress tests twice a week. I also had to rest every afternoon on my left side for several hours to optimize the blood flow to the baby. One of my diseases can cause problems with growth. I also had to do kick counts in the third trimester. In my case I stopped all of my meds while I was pregnant including the plaquenil because I felt so great. That was with my doc’s ok, of course. The one thing that caused me problems in my last pregnancy and put me on full bed rest was premature contractions. So, please drink lots of water, the more hydrated you are the less likely you are to have contractions like that. I kept notes so if you have questions, please ask. Once you get into the second trimester you can relax a little more. Good luck!
Congratulations !! Just like with women without lupus every story is different. I had my last child at 38 not realizing at the time that I had lupus. He was born a month early, but was perfectly healthy and is still my joy to this day. I had a huge flare after he was born, but it was worth every bit if it. enjoy your pregnancy, listen to your dr's and your body and enjoy this very beautiful period in your life. !!!
Congradulations! :)
Congrats! So excited for you! Whatand how many medications are you taking right now? I was trying to concieve but was on prednisone and after 6 months of trying i gave up because of the horrible side effects and my Dr. said i shouldn't have kids.
Dears,
Thank you all for the bless. However my gynae said my HCG is too low(410) and I was bleeding for 2days since Sat. I will get another round of HCG test. If result is higher than this time, I can continue my pregnancy. Finger crossed.
Annemarie, you are so lucky to have 3 angels.
