How often to see rheumatologist for stable lupus with no organ involvement?

how often in this case? every 3 months? every 6 months? I'm just on plaquenil?

for those of you in similar condition, how often does your rheum see you?

I go every 3 months because things can change in a day. I don't have the blood drawn that often though, as I have been negative for awhile. I also have arthritis and fibromyalgia that need to be checked too. My doctor always tells me to make a 3 month appointment when I leave.

I have kidneys in remission for almost 20 years. I have lupus and rhematoid arthritus. I see the rhemy every 3 months and labs every 2 months. On plaquenil, methotrexate and tramadol.

Hello, am waking up, yeah can’t sleep. Hey my visits are every 3mths., the doctor run all my test and refresh me with meds. Which the Lupus is under control ni don’t have to take the meds as much daily n the mgs have also dropped . It’s a good feeling. Enjoy what you feel confortable doing , BUT most of all remember: relax , don’t over do Nothing , and Don’t STRESS. , also ENJOY THE MOMENT’S. …BEverly L.

Depends on your medical history Your family doctor can monitor you and then see rheumy only once a year.

Depending on disease activity can be more frequent too- do what your doc advises and keep him updated if any change in symptoms. I have run the gamut from weekly when in a flare to once a year when my lupus is quiescent

I see mine every six months and I can call if I notice any changes. i'm on plaquenil and neurontin for my lupus.

I have been going only once a year...I can't see going when I have no issues...

The good rheums i seen have me come back every 3 months...bad one was every 6 months. I be careful about letting your GP check you especially if they do not know about lupus...thing is many of problems show no signs so you must do blood work to stay on top of it.

IF nothing else i ask to do bloodwork every 3 months....plus it also depends on how well you have had it and understand symptoms of lupus yourself. New person i hope they pull in every 3 months for first year at least just to answer questions and help them to understand what is a flare what is or just being sick like anyone else etc.

Plus...it also depends about your lupus history...if you continue to have mild case of it than i say every 6 months but again i do the bloodwork every 3 months. Not going to hurt to do the blood work and sure can make huge difference on how fast they catch silent problems of lupus.

Just what my good lupus doctors taught me...as long as they do the bloodwork and mild i would say why see your doctor if you are feeling well. But it also be nice to know if possibly you are in remission if you feel that good!!

hope i do not confuse you....just get blood work done to me that is most important so you know for sure nothing is going on without you detecting it.

thanks for the replies. makes sense

I go every 3 months for a follow-up. The visits really short if I'm not having any issues and I just get my plaquenil refilled.

i visit every 3 months. the reuhmy reviews my condition and keep vigilance over blood work.
