Hi Gandalf,
I take plaquenil 200mg daily which did help my DLE/SLE but after 2yrs now it's not working pointless taking it and the other i tried was Dapsone but my organs rejected the med and since then found out i've gone to fare with to much involvement so there's no meds to help me.
Come next month i think i'll be off the plaquenil.

In my personal experience anti-inflammatories have made a huge difference! Until recently I was on 500 mg twice a day of naproxen but my liver enzymes started going up and I began to bruise really easy so my rheumy took me off of them and put me on Mobic. I didn’t like it at 1st because I had a flare with the switch but now I’m feeling pretty good. I don’t think it’s quite as good as with the naproxen because my joints are a little more achey than before but I’m not going to complain!

I am on Benlysta and it has given me energy and pain relief. However I am now getting many infections as my immune system is down and it is very expensive. It is a monthly infusion and the day of the infusion and the day after I am VERY tired but then I get a couple of weeks with some good days and then it seems to slowly wear off and I get sicker and sicker until my next dose. I have been on plaquenil for 2 yrs and have not found it very helpful. I have taken prednisone a few times for a few months each and at first I felt amazing but the side effects were terrible and the side effects are worse with long term use so I did not want to stay on it.
Thank you Renee that’s good to know. I have never heard of the Mobic but I’m writing all these down, and hopefully when I go in on the 24th one of these will work. Thanks again.
