Health insurance! Help!

I have never had coverage but now that we know I’m sick, my mom has offered to pay for insurance. I have been staring at policies for days and still haven’t gotten anywhere. Can anyone reccomend a policy or what things I definately need? Also, how do they fing out you are pre-existing? My family dr doesn’t know yet and I haven’t gone anyplace but dermatologist and lab for blood test

I have been with UHC for years, my copay is real high. So when I see the Dr. they are usually shocked at what I pay. The only good thing I can say is my out of pocket for the year doesn't have to be paid up front. I am on a 70/30 plan , I find that medications are more costly than my Dr.'s visits. So I would check what the copay would be on medications for sure. My name brand meds can cost anywhere from 30.00$ to 60.00$ per month. I have found coupons on line for some name brand medications that has saved me around 600.00$ a year on my daughters medications. I always ask for generic medicaitons, I know that sometimes they have to give name brand. I can tell you that some months I have had to pick and choose what was going to help me more. It can be a hard choice on what to get filled and what I can do without. Also I have found out that some Dr's will give a break on the price if you call and talk to them and let them know that you do not have insurance. Some will reduce by 50%. or offer a family plan and many Dr's have samples of medications you just have to ask. I always ask, since I have had some reactions to medications. I hate to have something filled and then not even be able to take it. I wish you the best of luck in finding a good health insurance.

I did not respond accurately. I fibbed a little. There is a skin biopsy and an ANA out there somewhere testing positive to Lupus with my ssn on it. I’m praying bcbs doesn’t find it. I did finally find a policy and I’m awaiting approval. Only dermatologist knows~fingers crossed.

I can’t recommend a policy. I got caught on pre-existing because I answered the question accurately at an early age without knowing the consequences.

Idk if my trickery of getting insurance and later playing dumb and starting diagnosis process again is going to work… Thanks for the info
