good morning :)
All I want to know is what is with all these headaches all of a sudden? They are hitting me right behind my eyes. I wear glasses for reading, but I've taken to wearing them all the time because I figure maybe the headaches are from eye strain. I hate calling any dr. to "complain". When my therapist asked me why I don't call the dr., I told her I didn't want to pester the dr.
Good Grief! Maybe the headaches are coming from the fact I didn't quite taper off my steroids like I should have. I know that was bad, but I couldn't take it! The heart palpatations were sooo bad I thought my heart was gonna jump out of my chest. I know one thing...I'm never doing Prednisone again.
I hear ya on the prednisone! Never, ever again. Don't feel like you're pestering your doctor. They're there to help and figure out what's causing these things for you. It could be from not tapering the steroids, but I totally understand just wanting to stop the heart palpitations. Hope the headaches go away soon!
yes fast withdrawal from prednisone can def cause headaches. and other serious problems. you have to wean off it.
but you're not pestering the doctor. that is what they are for.
Having same problem. Just stopped prednisone about a week ago and been having bad headaches almost everyday since I stopped taking it. Also, started methotrexate so was blaming that. Now since you mentioned it, I know it’s the withdrawal from prednisone .
Hope u feel better soon.
An ice pack on the head helps with my headaches. They make these cool packs with gel beads inside them specifically for when you have those eye headaches. They're shaped like glasses that you strap on your head. They have them at the drug store, but my dad uses it all the time and says it really helps with his eye headaches.
I agree with Ballerina, ice packs or even a cold, wet washcloth does wonders for me and my daughter (we both have migraines). But since its behind your eyes, a vision check might not hurt. Good luck!
Hello, you say that prednisone is not helping you!? Well I have been taking it for almost 3 years and haven’t had no problems with. Now that my doctor has the Lupus under control, he advise me to take only half pill, which i don’t do that , I’ve learned that if I take a whole pill every two days I will have the same affect as a half of pill, so I take one pill every other day(it is still the same thing as what the doctor want me to do), and I still feel better!!! Sometimes we have to use our own judgement on our health, even though we pay the doctors todo their job-LOL hang in there and feel better soon…Beverly L.
I have those headaches almost daily. Ice packs on my eyes and neck help. Good luck
I started getting the same kind of headaches when I started methotrexate. I was taking 5mg prednisone and plaquenil...and tons of other pills. My rheumy said that sometimes prednisone and methotrexate together will cause headaches and to come off the prednisone. So far, fewer headaches, but a bit of increase in pain. good luck!
I have recently had some headaches, which I believe are part of my symptoms from Lupus. I have been under a lot of stress at work, so I think the tension has also worsened the headaches. I also have Type 1 Diabetes and tend to have headaches when my blood sugar is high. The research I've done about this subject indicates that stress does tend to make the headaches worse. Hope you get some relief soon!
Dehydration also causes headaches! i get them too and when I do its a reminder to drink water or gatorade and it almost always relieves it.
