Hey everyone, my name is Aly and I will be turning 27 in july. I was just diagnosed last month with a mild case of sle. I am still learning a lot about it and I want to be able to educate my family and friends on how best to support me when I need it.
I don’t know when I actually started showing symptoms of lupus. When I was 20 I started having a lot of joint issues and pain but I chalked it up to weight gain. It affected my life greatly and I became more of a shut in avoiding social get togethers and such.
anyhow back to the present, my current job is working with multiple severely handicapped students. I love my job in all its physical glory! I also competitively power lift. Lifting quickly became my life. I enjoy how supportive my gym mates are and it helps me stay in a social group.
Well that’s all I can think of for now. Mice to meet you
