Dry Eyes, pain and numbness in hands and feet

I have been experiencing extremely dry eyes and mouth lately. The opthamologist recommended that I use artificial tears and an ointment in my eyes. This doesn't seem to be working. I was wondering if anyone else suffered with this and what you may be using that may help.

I am also experiencing pain and numbness in my hands and lower part of my arms as well as numbness in my feet almost as if both my hands and feet fell asleep for lack of a better expression. Again has anyone else experienced this and if so how do you relieve these symptoms. Thanks much to anyone that can help or offer any advice.

Sounds like sjogrens, I would definately bring this up to your dr. I have all of those symptoms and have a dx of sjogrens as well as CLE. Sjogrens is a nasty little autoimmune disease too, it seldom affects the organs but kills all the glands. I hate it. I use restasis for the eyes and after starting plaquinil I have had maybe 2 or three bouts with the dry mouth.

I have not been diagnosed with Sjogrens and wasn't sure what it was. I do have the dry eyes and mouth as well as the tingling in my hands feet and mouth but not sure if I should tell my Rhuemy or what doctor I should consult. The opthamologist has said if the eys drops don't work she may have to prescribe restasis (sp.). Anyway thank you and I will consult my dr. tomorrow.

What you have is what my doctor diagnosed as sjorgens syndrome and it makes it hard for your tear sacs and whatever else that is usually moisten, very dry. I use the artifical tears, and you are right it help temporary, it also feels like there is something in your eye like a piece of hair of something. They gave me medicing to help the dry mouth, but I am so feed up with pills, I don't take them, because it is not life-threatening if I dont. I can cause vaginal dryness, mine has been severe sometimes, and I am afraid to try anything, because with the lupus I don't want any infections, so you have to be careful what you use especially down there. It seems like I have an vaginal infection every time I go to get my well woman check-up so I leave it alone and it leaves me alone(lol)

I also get the tingling in the hands and feet as if they have fallen asleep, but I haven't mentioned it to my doctor yet, But after what AnnA. said, I will bring it up at my next appointment on the 23rd of this month. Keep in touch and let me know what you find out. Hugs and Kisses. Be Blessed.

i have numbness in my hands and lower arms from time to time and have not figured out what causes it. let me know what you find out, ok? and how are you?
