Beyond lupus

Had an appointment with my rheumatologist today, it’s been 6 weeks since our last…in that time I’ve had a tendon tear in the ball of my foot, "gross"amounts of blood in my urine with clots, anemia with iron deficiency diagnosis, difficult lung function , chronic nausea, bile reflux(again) and painfull bouts of pancreantitis…its been rough:/ my inflammatory arthritis was very apparent in several places today so she wants to try “orencia” but doesn’t want me on any type of immunosuppressant until I see a new pulmanologist. My old one definitely dropped the ball with my treatment and diagnoses. She did refer me to a dr with in UM but he would only be at the location closest to me in November… honestly I didn’t bother to ask for another reference because I’ve had other personal things going on and have been living with my dysfunctional lungs a long time so it wasn’t my first priority. . I have an abdominal CT on Tuesday. Hopefully my pancreatic cysts hasn’t gotten bigger  its really become evident that i have several overlapping features of autoimmune immune diseases with relapsing polycondritus becoming my main diagnosis instead of SLE… A lot of my symptoms are either too severe or not typical to lupus but what im evolving into is a rare, very difficult to treat situation. I just hope it’s slows down

We are so sorry that you are having such a hard time. We are praying for you.

I'm sorry to hear your having such a difficult time of it. I will keep a good thought for you. take care of yourself

Dawn, you are so young to be dealing with these problems. Please make the UM appointment or, better yet, get to the Mayo Clinic at Jacksonville. They have done the most work on autoimmune pancreatitis, with the possible exception of Johns Hopkins, of anyone in the world, and are one of the few places to do core biopsies of the pancreas. Please be assertive in seeking out the best care, for you are right that your condition is complex and serious. Keep us posted, as we are concerned about you, and want to see you in the best hands.
