Thank you all so much! I'm feeling tons better today. Having Lovenox injections now and Coumadin. I'm able to walk back and forth to the bathroom without sucking air....something I haven't been able to do in months. Doctor says home probably Saturday and 3 months on blood thinners.

Doctor said I didn't present like a normal bilateral embolism. He also said that they frequently catch blood clots in the lungs by accident, so its important to keep pushing when you know something is wrong if they don't find something at first. Lesson learned. WELL learned.

Can't wait to get home to my son and start doing things again.

Of course, as clutzy as I am, I'm going to have to be very, very careful and I'm obviously going to have a bunch of bruises, but hey, at least I'll be able to breathe!!

Been there done that in 2008. Wishing you a speedy recovery and will say a prayer for you and your family. P.S still on the blood thinners since the blood clots come back whenever I have a flare up . God Bless

Hi Julie,

Your right on what you said about the blood clots coming back...as once you've had them in the lungs, they still reappear. xxx

Hi there Ms. Doolittle, you hang in there, everything will be ALRIGHT !!! Keep your FAITH up and your SPIRITS... Jehovah GOD will see you through .....Beverly L.

OMG....how horrible...is this a common reaction to Plaquenil or to the Lupus itself? (poor activity level due to exhaustion and pain could cause the clots in legs). I'm still trying to get up to the level they prescribed but when I actually take the full dose I start itching...is that what anyone else experiences with Plaquenil? No rash though. I know my pain meds can cause itching too and wonder if they are synergistic in that area.

Bless you dear Mrs. Doolittle...have a speedy recovery. Virtual Hugs to you!

BTW is that your real name...I love it! I imagine you touring the world in a giant snail:} Or using it as a reminder to take it easy. How fun.

I doubt that it is a common reaction. I spent a couple of months not being able to stand or walk far because my back was out and I was trying to work with some really awful pain doctor who kept dragging his feet. Apparently they think I developed blood clots in my pelvis a couple of months ago and they traveled to my lungs and I never knew it. At least that is the current theory.

LOL, as for the the name Mrs. Doolittle...we live on a farm and I have a 12 yr old son. He has pigs, goats, chickens and cats. We've also had geese, guinea pigs, parakeets, doves, a rabbit and a dog. Yea, Mrs. Doolittle is about it....LOL.

Hello Mrs.D,

I do hope you make a quick recovery and the clots move and if they're correct about your pelvis what thinner they give you after should keep you clear for a while.

I'd also ask them if this as left you with "antiphospholipid syndrome" - Hughes syndrome....through me having DVT it's left me with this syndrome and it does a good many people where you blood after the clots have moved as to be checked regular.

This link will help you on what it's about.

Im so sorry to hear about your scare. I have a friend who has had that happen on 2 seperate occasions. take care, rest up and sending prayers your way.

Hello Kathy,

How are you feeling now in yourself?.... i hope your feeling benefit from the blood thinner.

Thinking for you Terri xxx

OMG. Just learned of your condition. I hope to hear you're home safely bynow. That is terrible. Were the blood clots truly a reaction to Plaquenil? How horrible.

I send my thoughts, prayers, and good wishes to you during this terrible time. Please post good news soon. This is an eye opener for those whom take the drug. I did for 8m, it didn't seem to work for me. I still had the smae amount of flares.

Awww, thank you! I'm not sure if it was a reaction to the plaquenil. More than likely it was just a combination of the inflammation from the Lupus combined with me not walking much for 2 months because my back was out and I was waiting for a new idiot pain doc to do something about it. My GP thinks the blood clots originated in my pelvis and traveled to my lungs.

I'm feeling much better now. My pulse/ox is back to normal, from about 110-120 resting pulse and ox of 84 when I was sick to pulse of 80 and ox of 95 and better. I'm able to walk thru the house without losing my breath and today I finally started catching up on the housework. Feels SO good to be productive again!

GLAD TO HEAR YOU ARE FEELING BETTER, PRAYERS GO OUT TO YOU .

Thank you so much!
