So I went for my second benlysta infusion today and like last time it was really hard to find any good veins. .my nurse told me it’s time for a port:(I have a lot of cardiopulmonary issues from the lupus and because of that and the severity of my overall disease she said thats why the veins are nonexistent. They were there 6 months ago!!oh well, I’ll have a new permanent port just in time for my 34th birthday!worst present ever lol
I'm sorry to hear about the port. The good thing is that you won't have to go through a million sticks just to find a vein. Wishing you the best!
I always loved patients with ports when I worked on the floor. Things will be so much better for you with it. If there is every any problems you have quick access and that can make a big difference. Wishing you an early happy birthday I hope it is a great and pain free day.
Enjoy and take care of it !
I used to go through 10 to 20 sticks at a time. Now they get right in!
What’s a port??
Thanks for the the well wishes and support!
