Just had my 3rd infusion today and about 6 hours later my jaw started hurting really bad. I can’t hardly open my mouth. I feel a little dizzy. Does any one know if these normal side effects?
I've never had any sort of reaction like that. I have experienced a mild increase in overall joint pain, but nothing like that. Sounds to me like that might merit a call to the doctor.
I had this sort of reaction only it was my back not my jaw. It always makes me a bit dizzy and light headed in the afternoon once I get home. I always attributed it to the benadryl. If you’re concerned definitely call your doc. I hope the rituxan works for you. It only gave me about two months of relief then I flared horribly. So I’m back on cellcept. Gentle hugs, Annemarie
You should call your doctor right away as jaw pain is a sign of heart attack in women. Just to be sure. And since you are also dizzy you may just want to get it checked out. I don’t want to scare you but it’s best to be safe especially when we are getting strong medications. Take care-hugs Tina
My 1st Rituxan infusion was ok. I tried another one & shortly after it started I had chest pain & shortness of breath. My Rheumatologist said I probably built up antibodies to the drug. Maybe in your premeditated with Benedryl it may help. Sounds like you had a reaction & your Dr should be notified.
i agree...if after hours, call advice nurse or try to reach your doctor for after hours call as emergency. Tinapet is right, could be sign of heart or clot. In fact i take a aspirin to just be on safe side immediately.
If your doctor does not take after hour calls, go to urgent care of ER. I hate sending people to ER because of wait plus so expensive. But someone who can check your body out for heart issues or stroke, blockage in jaw area...i just bite the bullet and go since it can save your life. Plus faster they start some drugs lesser damage .
In fact states on front page in Web MD about Rituxan that can cause heart problems...here is link call your doctor or advice if not there...call ER and say you are coming with possible heat problem from drug such as attack. Please if someone is with you have them read that front page. Have the tell immediately you just had this given to you .

i hope it is nothing...like tension and just clinching your jaw but you really need to have checked out because women do not get heart attacks same as men. Take aspirin too!! If symptoms have become worse at all you might call ambulance if your drive is over 15 minutes away...
We tend to think about how far it is in our home town and like me i could walk there just about in 15 minutes! Others it is hours...so just try to play it safe. and wish you best
