Non-epileptic spells/lupus meds

Hi everyone!

I was just wondering if any of you have had what they call "non-epileptic spells." They are kind of like seizures, only they are not caused by electrical activity in the brain. My doctors are not sure what is causing them, and they are sending me to Cleveland Clinic in January, I was just curious if anyone has gone through this.

Also wondering what lupus meds you may be on? My doctor has only given me Plaquenil. I used to be on Methotrexate but she pulled me off of it because she thinks it has no benefit for lupus.

Methotrexate is one of the meds I'm on, and it most definitely had a positive effect on my Lupus! That being said, I know not every drug has the same benefit for every patient. Just like the symptoms are different for us all, we all react differently tot he various meds. Perhaps you were not responding to it in a manner that satisfied your doc.

For my Lupus, I am taking prednisone, methotrexate, and azathioprine (Imuran). I also take various other things in relation to those (folic acid, Prilosec) and other unrelated stuffs too.

I'm afraid I have no help or experience about the seizures. I do know there are folks here who have seizures, so I'm certain someone will be able to chime on on that.

Thank you for your input! I was just put on Cellcept today so hopefully that works!

I have had them, my nuro doc. Told me it was from stress because they did not show up. Another one said it was coming from my muscles, another, said i was crazy, they just do not know so if they do not say something they think they look bad.
