I had my knew Dr. appt today with the new rhemy, and I must say he was one of the nices Dr I seen In a long time. He wants to get me off the steriods. He added 3 more to my long list of meds , but I think its for the better. he sent me out last week for blood work and of course my vitimin d was verrrry low, my colesterol was 8 points higher than its suppose to be and my lupus(of course) is active. he spend almost 45 mins with me. He was asking things no other Dr would ever ask. So I think I found a winner. I hope.....
I am happy for you. It is very hard to find a good doctor these days. I am very fortunate that I have a good group that cares for me. This lus thing seems to stump my doctors from time to time, but they tend to do the research on the subject matter or reach out if the don’t know something. Having a doctor that takes the time with you is a good thing because you know that they are listing to you. I wish you the best on this new journey.
Hi Tanya,
Nice news mate and nothing better than seeing a doctor who as time for you besides going over old ground abit also...it's nice to see he wants you off the steriods and is preapring you for new drugs and i really hope they work and it's a good job your vitamin level was found and also your colesterol.
How your doctor seemed with you, is just how my Dermo is with me and you always seem to walk away like you've achieved a positive goal. xxx

A good physician and a vacation! Sounds like you are on a roll. Congratulations. And, of course, I am happy that he took the time to measure your vitamin D level. The first wave of research on vitamin D and lupus only indicated that they were correlated; people with lupus tend to have low levels of vitamin D. But now the second wave of research is starting to appear. This research is examining exactly how vitamin D impact the immune system and strongly suggesting that lupies with low vitamin D levels have more frequent flares and more severe symptoms. Congratulations again on finding a new doctor who sounds like a real winner.
Lack of vitamin D worsens lupus
yes he was the nices Dr ..He wants to see me in 2 weeks because He had more he wanted to talk to me about...

Tanya,
That's brilliant him wanting to see you in 2wks..here in the UK you have to wait every 6mths before you see one and then on the day it may not be the same specialist. xxx

Tanya,
It's worth looking at the links "Ann's" added because i brushed vitamin D aside thinking (Oh my god just another vitamin) besides my hubby trying to get me to take multi vitamins.
Well i've watched quite a few of Ann's links and they well opened my eyes....to why i'm so bad and a good many in the UK, for a start off the climate changing to quick and not enough sun, no wonder my raynauds are so bad.
Hello Ann,
I had the multiple vitamins years back and i'm not being vulgar but i could'nt go to the toilet for days, they bind my bowels right up and now with the IBS i'm having trouble before xmas i could go well, then i cou;d'nt and pain got worse i'm on spasm tablets beside liquid to help my bowels and i can't go and my stomach's swelling like as if i was pregnant and hurting me.
My mom took them regular and my dad that's how it came about the first time but i just went into a right state.
Love to my dear friend who's so very thoughtful. xxxx

Thanks Terri,
I didn't Tanya any of the video links, just links to some webpages. But the grassroots health website has links to the videos for the conference that was held in the US at the University of California. But many people are surprised when they learn that vitamin D is not really a vitamin. The researchers who discovered that it would prevent rickets back the 1920s misnamed it. In our bodies it is really a very powerful secosteroid hormone about which we are learning more every day.
But luv, why won't you take the multiple? I mean vita means life. Vitamins are organic compounds that are essential to life. And very few of us get the amount that we need in our food. So why not supplement?

Hello Ann,
I'm being straight i have'nt a clue what they contained just saw Multi vitamins on the front but i know they bound me up bad.
Ann at the moment besides my meds and the pain i'm getting from the IBS with not being able to go i'm frightened of making it any worse...and regarding monthly's i had to have an operation to stop those because of my anaemia with haemorraging badly besides a monthly.

Dear Tez,
If they bound your bowels then you had the multiples with IRON. If your tried the ones without iron they would probably not do the same. The one's with iron are for women who need to replace what they loose when their monthly friend comes to visit. But boy will that iron bind you.
