I am pleased the info did'nt frighten you and it's best to know things properly in general about it, then things be hidden...you have to look at Lupus like any other ailment which can happen in life, Lupus can cause issues which people can have in general...it's just that more care as to be taken that's the main over view with the disease.
Regarding your past with your previous pregnancy's....i'd say you've had Lupus alot longer than 2yrs and when you see your specialist this is one issue worh asking about.

Don't worry I wasn't frightened by any of the info that was so kindly shared here for me. I'd like to be just as prepared as I can be even if that means knowing all the gritty details. I'm still learning all that I can about Lupus before being diagnosed I had never heard of it. I'm taking everything one step at a time. I do have a feeling I'm going to go through a lot of obgyn I have the right to be picky :-) thank you again for taking the time to inform and encourage me! What a wonderful group of people!
Thanks and i've found and studied some info but nothing like that and like DeAnne said it's better to read although it's long but gives a great over view of Lupus and what it obtains :) xxx

Sheila,
Totally get the brain fog. Terri put together a good bit of information on Lupus that I find especially easy to understand. At the top of the site, where you would choose members, group, etc. there is a tab that say Lupus Overview. It's really quite good. Quite a few things I hadn't known before.
When you saw your specialist and a robust form of Lupus was mentioned in what particular way if you don't mind me asking.... regarding what's it involving as robust forms come in many ailments to Lupus.
Hello lovely :) If you don't mind me asking, what medications were u taking during your pregnacy if any? I am taking methotrexate and I am told not to get pregnant while on that medince because it is unsafe. This medicine happens to be the only one to control my symptoms besides predisone which I REFUSE to take again.

Hello and yes- congratulations! I'm 35 and was diagnosed at age 17, had Lupus Nephritis, did a year and a half of chemotherapy (Cytoxan) treatments, and my doctors at Children's hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio back then, knew that I wanted children someday and put me on an experimental drug to protect my fertility so the chemo wouldn't make me sterile... Needless to say, it worked- the chemo put me in remission and I was very fertile afterward... I have 4 healthy children, ages 14, 12, 6, and 5. The word of caution I would advise is sometimes doctors take it too seriously and are overly cautious... With me, my OBs pushed me to get induced early with my first two because they were worried about me flaring during labor or immediately after (and there was no sign that was the case), and I ended up with c-sections with my first two, and the recovery was much harder for me... I was told I would never have normal births, and with my third child, was pushed to schedule another c-section, but I refused and took charge of my own care and found a midwife who attended my last two labors at home... I never flared during or after any of my pregnancies and in fact, one of the high-risk OBs I had with my first two told me, "if we could just keep you pregnant" because it seemed to go deeper into remission during my pregnancies... Everyone is different, of course, but I pray your pregnancy and delivery is as unremarkable and easy as my last two were... Don't let them scare you into anything you aren't comfortable with- and good luck!!! :)
How are you feeling now since adding your discussion and what members put as it helped settle your mind more in regarding understanding Lupus more...it will be lovely to hear from you.
Since posting this thread I have been Awful sick with morning sickness. At one point couldnt keep anything down for several days. Which landed me in the er because of being dehydrated. I was never this sick with my other ones. Since I also couldnt keep my meds down I’m in a mild lupus flare. Joints inflamed and running mild fever off and on. I was hoping I’d get a break from lupus while being pregnant like some of you have mentioned but that doesn’t seem the case. I have an appointment at the obgyn Monday morning to pick an ob. I don’t believe any where I live are familiar with lupus and probably won’t take on a high risk patient. our local hospital also doesn’t have a NICU, which I’ve been told that I need to deliver at one that does. Hopefully I’ll get all this figured out soon. Oh, also, I had an ultrasound at the er and everything looks good
Sorry to hear how bad you've been feeling and it especially ending you up at ER ....while carrying your child drink plenty of water because with Lupus you can't afford to let your body and organs get dehydrated.
Regarding Lupus flares pregnant or not they can just occur anytime and this you can do without plus it's how active the Lupus is in your system.
I hope you manage to get a NICU and members are able to help regarding your area...i am pleased your ultrasound showed everything being ok.
Just try and take things steady and if you do anything at all take breaks in between as this helps with coping with your flare also and fingers crossed it carms down quickly.
Thank you for updating we and it's lovely to hear from you. Love Terri :) xxx
