Lupus and hypothyroidism! Need advise!

So I have had one positive ana and one negative. I have a borderline anti double strand plus a positive skin biopsy, however the results read something like the dr may want to do the immunofluorescence ( not sure if that’s the right word or spelling) also. But the results read diagnoses: SLE.
The dermatologist agreed with diagnosis as well due to rashes along with all the tests. They started treating me with hydrochoquin about a year ago ( no luck with it so far)
I finally seen the rheumy again today. Well same charity hospital clinic but different dr than the one that diagnosed me. So he is saying now that he thinks I dont have lupus that its just my hypothyroid thats creating all these symptoms.
I’ve been on levothyroxine for a couple years now, although mu thyroid still isnt normal. I tried bringing up all the positive test but he didn’t want to hear any of it. He said im upping your levo and see u in a year! There are no other rheumy’s around mu area that take medical card either. Oh and I ask about doing the immunofluorescence biopsy there and he said they don’t do it there. I don’t know what to do. I waited on a waiting list over 2 years to get into this clinic.
He also said he wasn’t gonna stop my hydrochoquin but after I left I was reading the paper work and it said they were taking me off of it. I dont understand why he would do that.
Does anyone else here suffer from both? Any advice?
Can anyone tell me any difference in symptoms?
I looked up hypothyroid rash and doesn’t look nothing like mine. Also it said hypothyroid rashes are very itchy!
Thanks to all who take the time to read this!

Wow im a bit disappointed in the lack of advise/help/support!
Guess I need to find a different support site. Which is sad because I really like this site and the great info it usually supplies.

Sorry to take so long to get back to u but I just saw ur post. I have hypothyroid and lupus. I have battled thyroid for about 10 years and I actually used to have hyperthyroid for years and now have hypo weird to go from one to the other but anyways I have never had a rash from my thyroid at all but my lupus rash varies in how it looks and sometimes it does itch. For instance that’s how my lupus diagnosis started. I went to tanning bed and broke out on my stomach so bad it was like blisters and itched really bad. But when my face breaks out it does not itch just red butterfly type rash across my nose and cheeks. I have also had water filled blisters on my arms also. Been on hydrochoquin for bout 4 years and love it. I very rarely break out as long as I stay out of sun and uv lights. But it took bout a year for it to really start working. I hope this maybe helped some. If u have more questions I will try to get back to u.
