Is this lupas

Hi. I have been have ongoing body aches off and on for a year. It kinda feels like the aches your get from the flu. A month and a half ago I stared breaking out in a rash around my eyes and small red dots on my face. This was followed by the worse body aches and joint aches I have ever experienced. The rash on my eyes comes and goes but it seems like the sun light is what is triggering it. I step out the house and the rash around my eyes appear my eyes and nose start watering like a faucet. The body aches are gone but I still have cramping in my fingers and knees. Sometimes I wake up and my arms and knees are numb. Anyone else experience these symptoms? This is all new for me and very scary. I should mention my ana test came back negative. Thank u.

hi stacy

Their are many autoimmune diseases that mimick one another. Some doctors will diagnose lupus with out a positive ana. Do you have a family history? Seeing a rhuematologist to have things ruled out would be a good place to start.

Stacie as suggested, try to see a rheumatologist. most times I feel the worst, just like you describe when my Ana panel reads near normal. My rheumatologist called once to tell me the meds were working great and I was in the normal range, that was news to me because I felt horrible.

Thanks for the replys. This rash on my eyes is killing me. Just going in the sun changes my eye whites to red and they hurt and are blury. I see a rheumatologist at the end of the month at Mayo but I am trying to get a dermatologist to test my rash this week. We have no family history but I also have MEN1 and there was no history with that either. I guess it’s the luck of the draw.
