Hospital

So it’s official I have my first hospital stay since I have been diagnosed. I am extremely frustrated by this. They think is pure lupus complications but I had heart attack symptoms and it scared me.

So…how is everyone tonight? Anything entertaining going on

(Stay positive right)

Hi there! Sounds like you could use a bit of cheerful company! I had an amusing discovery today that I'll share. I've been learning tai chi as a means of strengthening my body lately. I enjoy it quite a bit, but tonight I learned something fun about it. Though it is meant to be quiet, soothing, serene, I found that it goes very well with dubstep. (In case you don't know what dubstep is, here is the song I first tried doing my tai chi to! Cracks (Flux Pavillion Remix) ) What's amusing is that it really is not at all what folks think of when they think tai chi, but it worked wonderfully, and made me giggle and feel a surge of elation. I may have to practice my tai chi to dubstep from now on, just to add a smile to my day.

Oh I know what dub step is. Lol. I hardly think it’s serene. That’s awesome though we all have to find our own beat to follow. …yours just goes a little faster

I have had sharp chest pains before and I had pericarditis and pleuritis. Unless it is very severe and have effusions (which I have had) it doesn’t turn up on most exams.
My cardiologist told me that everything looked clear but she said it was hard to see. She wanted to give me an older anti inflammatory called indomethecin. I got ulcers from that years ago so she told me to take Motrin (with lots of food on stomach) and increase Colcrys to twice a day. The best I had felt in months. Don’t wait as long as I did to see someone other than your rheumie. I also see a pulmonologist due to the pleurisy and effusions which can also cause chest pain. Hope you get some relief.

Hehe, awesome! No, it is not serene, at least in the stereotypical way. I however do find it soothing in some ways (or at least the songs I listen to). I don't actually do the tai chi faster with the dubstep, I still keep the moves measured and slow, it just is set to much more energetic music with a heavy beat, hehe!

Music is pretty important to me and my state of mind. I really rely on many types of music to help me through my days. It allows me to give vent to my feelings, but also to mold my mood into something more positive or healthy. Classical to classic rock, celtic to country, new age jazz to alternative rock, electronic to folk, I love it all. Well, most of it, anyway!

I am sorry you are in the hospital. I had heart attack symptoms to and it was my lupus.

Keep positive! It’s hard, I know first hand your pain and the inability of hospital staff to understand Lupus. Prayers for a fast recovery

I'm so sorry. My first hospital stay, after which I was dx with Lupus, was when I had blood poisoning. My second was with blood clots in my lungs. It really stinks, but we keep fighting....
