I have cervical spondylosis known as Osteoarthritis i was born with it and my backs disfigured arches in to much they found it when i was in my early 20's by having 20mini MRI x-rays of it and they told me they could'nt correct it being to old but from a child my back would have been plated, it wares your vertebraes away, i have to supporting my neck now and ones damaged in the middle of my back, it's spread into my ribs which i mentioned and yes it's still a form of Arthritis plus i have bursitis of the foot, where my toes crack and ankles because the bones open up and twist your toes...now that's quite painful.
If you want to read about it the link below explains it.
Your arthitis sounds like RA as my mom add that and she had identical symptoms...when you see your specialist again find out what you actually to have because all these issues are important to you.
My lungs are messed up, i have Lupus causing swelling to them, also Bronicle bronchitis, the left lung is black off pleurisy and also the COPD and when the sjogrens does it's work it shrinks my organs but thank you for the lovely kind words.
thermostat wars happened here until i told ste i need hit in the winter for my raynauds then come summer i'm still messed up with coldness or to much warmth...you need to watch for raynauds appearing being to cold plus air conditioning is no good for we either.
Sorry your up mate it's terrible, it's 10-45am here and i'll be going to get dressed.
You need to keep warm and your body temp right to certain heats.

Ann A so glad you have a wonderful relationship with your grandson. Hope you enjoyed your outing! Thanks for responding.
I imagine you are a wealth of knowledge, coping skills, and stories to tell after dealing with this even before too much was known about how to be helped at all. I'll be watching for your posts, to learn from you.
Some people are in our lives for a reason, a season, or the long haul. Time to make new friends, who know the me I am now, accept me, and who are positive and caring like I try hard to be. As far as family goes, I think they are in denial.
At least here I can simply be me. No explanations. Everyone is facing their own issues, and get's it.

Dear ohsoperplexed,
I am so sorry that you must hide your chronic illness from others. I have been living with lupus for 46 years so most of the people that I know are not shocked that I say no to many activities. Many of them do not understand why I say no. They have simply come to accept the fact that I do.
Today I am going to have some fun, even though my house is a mess. My 25 year grandson will be here in a few minutes and we are going to see a movie. I was so pleased when he called a few days ago and said, "Hey Grandma, let's go see Man of Steel of Friday." The storm on Thursday forced a change in plans and so we are going to a Saturday matinee. It will be nice to sit in a cool dark theater. And I am getting myself ready to come out into a bright sunny afternoon: Hat, sunscreen, shades, sun sleeves, uv protective gloves.
But for several hours I will get to spend some time with one of my favorite human beings on the planet. And this movie will be shared memory that we talk about over and over again. He is here. I look forward to talking with you later.
Several months ago I asked him if he understood lupus. His reply was, "Not really." He doesn't really understand lupus. He just accepts his grandmother as she is. I really love this young man.
hugs back to you reet, and hope soon you are faring better!
I am finding this to feel like a safe haven, full of very nice people.

I so hope you had a wonderful time. Your grandson has that wonderful unconditional love that doesn't come along too often. He must be a really special person.
Take care,
