Plaquenil can affect alot of us and some of the side affects can be strong but taking it at night is better and you don't get no affects hardly.

That's what I do when I'm going into a flare :-( I took Plaquenil also and the doctor took me off of it because she said it was making me sick. Then she put me back on it and it made me sick again. I hope you feel better.
I got MRSA 2 years ago on my temple And was hospitalized for 2.5 weeks. It was scary and touch and go for a little while. I have awful food, seasonal, etc allergies and psoriasis. When I get itchy, I now just take Benadryl right away to stave off any scratching. Im also super careful with shopping carts and always wipe down the handles. MRSA is no joke and having Lupus just adds to the complications. Theres no room for shortcuts with us.
Yes I get fevers that come and go and last for a week or so. Im so used to them now that I barely notice a low grade temp until it hits 103. Most of my drs were dumbfounded and had no idea why for so many years. My new rheum seems to think its Familial Mediteranean Fever. Of course, theres no test for it. Go figure, nothing could come easy. I try to stay hydrated ( i hate water, so I, in the ER alot) and try to rest when I feel run down or even slightly hot. But its still hard to remember to listen to my body. Fevers with aches and pain is a norm in my life. I hope you can find your comfort at those moments. For me its heat packs, pain meds and lots of sleep.
Wishing you rest
Terry
Hello. I am sooo frustrated! I went to see a new rheumy today and he says that I don't have Lupus, since my tests came back negative. He thinks its Fibromyalgia and put me on Lyraca. He made me feel like since I also deal with depression all the pain is "in my head" and I'm some sort of psycho case. I'm starting to really hate dr.'s. I don't know what to believe anymore
How many others have you seen? Can you see someone else? I know this is frustrating. But, there are lots of doctors out there. And if he is not sensitive to your concerns, you have the right to see someone else.
Not another one mate saying you don't have Lupus also...for god sack they know you don't have to have positive bloods for still having Lupus as long as you show symptoms.
Take no notice of him proberly thinking your a psycho, you know what your going through, i'm a manic depressive but if a rheumo looked at me in that manner i'd go mad.
Rosie lastnight i did some looking as i love the research on Lupus and the knowledge when i can and i came across Lupus, Lyme Disease and Fibro all being identical in symptoms...i've done a thread on it and i hope you'll look at the link in the thread i'm attaching for you.

I had the same doctor for 7 years. Every year I had a full physical with blood work, urine, the works! I kept saying to him, something is wrong...I'm so tired all the time. It meant nothing to him. I got so sick I almost died! Three hospitalizations later and thousands in medical bills I meet a doctor who listens to me for 20 minutes and does one blood test. In a matter of three days I was diagnosed with Lupus, Mixed Connective Tissue disease and Fibromyalgia. Find a doctor that fits you...not the other way around.
Well i will say this this after 7yrs of going through the mill and nothing positive coming out of it...you see another doctor and BINGO you get your results.
Sorry you was in hospital a few times besides the amount of bills in cost but at least you know now.
Well I've only been on the Lyrica for 3 days, so I don't really know if its working or not. I still wake up really stiff, but the fatigue has gotten a little better. I started taking pumpkin seed powder( a tablespoon in some applesauce) at night and boy I sleep like a rock! It has a higher concentrate of triptaphan(sp?) than turkey so it helps me sleep. I'm sure sleeping better has aided me in feeling a little better. Thanks so much for asking. How are you feeling?
I'm glad the fatigue has gotten better. Wow.. pumpkin seed powder! Interesting that it helps you with sleep! Turkey causes fatigue? Sleep? Please advise, because I eat mainly turkey and seafood.. hmm..
I'm doing really good this week! Last week I was down and depressed a few days. It was really bad. I hate when I get like that. But, I take the good days with the bad days. God is still good to me.
Hang in there, Rosie! I'll do the same!

Just to clarify, turkey doesn't cause fatigue. At least I don't think so. But you know how after a large turkey meal you tend to get sleepy? That's because of the triptaphan in turkey. (naturally occuring) Well, the pumpkin seed powder has an even greater concentration of triptaphan. Mix some in some applesauce (or any other carbohydrate) about an hour before bed and it helps you sleep...naturally.
I'm glad to hear you're doing well this week. I'll keep you posted.
I am pleased your sleeping better the way you've been and the rest will do you the worlkd of good and it's nice to know you seem to be going ok at the moment....please keep we updated.
