Down in the dumps

Wow, this is ALL REALLY SAD!! This is my first post here because I could not face this disease nor what it has done to me or others. But please don’t let it get the best of you. KEEP FIGHTING, I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus over 5 years ago and have since had congestive heart failure, along with a lot of other problems and two major surgeries! It is so easy to get down & I have shed a lot of tears over this nasty disease and the problems it has brought. Some of your sadness maybe attributed to your medication your taking. I know I have to take a lot, it it definitely affects me. The other thing I found is everyone around is still gaining knowledge of this disease so it makes you feel more alone but As a person living with the disease I am here to tell you your not alone. I found it helpful to go to a specialized therapist that deals with Chronic pain and diseases and how to cope. This for me has helped greatly, you can’t battle such a disease alone. Also positivity goes along ways, so everyday I listen to Joel Osteen he has a internet site where you can listen to his live broadcasts & he talks about nothing but positive things I find that helps! I hope this helps you.

Hey! lupus can get you down but only if you let it . Everyone suffer with disorders from time to time , but we have to hold on to the little life that we can. Make the most of it , no one want this terrible disease. Happy to say that the moment that we have pain free or depression free ,enjoy to the fullest Beverly L.

Hi, hon. You have touched my heart. I am so sorry for your suffering. I wanted to let you know, your sparkle is not lost. I think it may have been hidden away for safekeeping like any jewel. You just need a little help finding it again. That’s why we’re here. Please continue to reach out for support. We care about you, we understand and will be there for you.

Hugs,

Laurie

Hi Stiltgirl,

I wanted to see how you are doing. I know this Lupus journey has it's ups and downs and I want you to know that when you need us we are here. You have been through a ton and preserved, I know you will find happiness and your sparkle again. Just remember we care. Tons of hugs.

What a great post, Reddog. I think it's so very, very important for each one of us to remember that we will find happiness and our sparkle again. It's there. It's just harder to see or sometimes access it because of our pain and other issues. Completely understood! But we can get our mojo back; pinecones in smaller energy bundles now so I have to go easy but it's there. Petunia's Irish blessing: May each and every one of you feel that important part of yourself again.

Hi petunia,

I hadn't seen any posts from you in awhile and was wondering were you where. Glad your back. Hope all is well.

Sounds like you have been delt a totally loaded deck. I really am so sorry to hear about your struggles. Quite admiring of how long you have battled away. It must be a shocking adjustment to wheelchair life. I wont try to say 'wise words' as I'm sure you have heard them all previously. I will hold you in my thoughts & hope that you soon climb out of the darkness currently surrounding you. I'm sure your 'sparkle' will return. Perhaps if you just pretend its on its way back, each day will become easier to pretend. Kaz x
