Doctors office called me

Last week I had my routine Lupus labs done. I decided to get them a few weeks early because over the last month I have not been feeling well. I have been extemely fatigued, anxious and overall joint aches, and slightly short of breath. My next scheduled appt is mid July and was planning to go over all of this with the doc then.

So the doctors office called me and wanted me to get more antibody labs drawn and he wanted to see me as soon as he gets the results. His office had no idea I had been feeling poorly so I figured it had to be related to my labs. I went online to see what was out of whack (we have an app for patients to view their labwork online).

The only labs that seemed off where a slightly elevated BUN/Creatinine and my antiphospholipid AB IGM it was > 100 which is a strong positive. This is a marked difference from my elevated normal which is around 15 (equivacal).

Needless to say it has me worried and confused as I am unsure what it means and what could be so important that he would want to see me so soon especially when I already have an appt in July.

Try not to worry. He might just want to see if any of your other antibodies changed since the antiphospholipid one went up and if they are elevated, he might need to change your plan of action/medications/etc.

Knowledge is power.

I use an online free patient education site to help me understand lab work results. I forget if we are allowed to post links, but if not some one please remove it and let me know. The site is called Lab Tests Online if you use a search engine, and come in a number of languages.

glad you have a doctor who looks over tests when they come in and is quick to act if he feels he needs to dig further so you get good care! and how lovely his staff is on the ball too! count your self lucky.

Hey thanks much for the link and your thoughtful comments. I am very lucky with my healthcare providers!

Thanks much for the encouragement. I appreciate you reaching out.
