I am just curious. I have a lot of problems on the right side of my body. It seems to effect right leg, and hand mostly. It's gotten to the point where I am starting to walk with an unfortunate limp (i will walk really slow sometimes just so it doesn't show) and I have had to cut my hair because I don't have enought strength in my hand to pull a brush through my hair.
I am having a lot of headaches on the right side, with numbness in right arm and pain in shoulder. It affects the right eye and ear as well. I also notice a weak grip in my right hand at times. ENT seems to think it is a muscle spasm and prescribed another muscle relaxer. I feel like its more! Wanna get to the bottom of this.
Hello MamaMarshall,
Good dicussion you've brought up here...as although we ache there's loads of members getting something alot more than the other.
With myself i have DLE/SLE besides sjogren's driving me soft organ wise but the main issue as been my legs like heavy dead weights are in them besides spasms and when i saw my rheumo last week he confirmed what it was through me having DVT in the past...my blood vessels are'nt opening like they should and lack of blood and circulation are causing this issue.

For the longest time only my right side hurr. Now both do but right greater always, every joint on the right side. Feel better!
I was just thinking about this! I am currently having to go in every other day for a solumedrol iv because I hurt so bad under my left rib cage.
Hi,
Well for me both sides hurt, but my right side hurt the most! It's amazing how all of have the same pain just one maybe more severe then the other, but it's the same thing. My Rheumo has taking more blood work to see if he needs to put me on more Predisone. I really don't like taking it, but if it will work I'll take anything. I'm really getting tired of taking meds I have 5 that I'm taking already everyday all day. I guess I will have to continue since it is helping. I have Lupus, Sjogren, Thyroid, High Blood Pressure, Precratitis, and stomach issues. I'm doing better on myh Lupus fog, I'm remembering more.....ugh that's a bomber.......I pray that all is well with everyone and I pray that you are pain free..........God Bless!!

Interesting discussion, thanks for starting this MamaMarshall : )
On my first visit with my rheumie, he asked me if I was left handed, because my joints are more affected on my left side. But, its my right foot that first brought me in to see my GP, and what I'm having surgery on. I'm not taking Meloxicam this week until the surgery, and I realize how well it was working... My left wrist, and elbow are very painful....as well as both knees. Trisha
I feel you Trisha that's exactly what's going on with me my right knee I go and get cortisone shots in it and therapy, but my left shoulder and wrist are paining so bad that I have to go to bed and cry until I get relief. I don't really have anything to take for it except OTC meds and sometime it work, but for the most part it doesn't. I also have some severe pain in my neck and I get NO sleep when that happens anybody have any suggestions as to what would be good to take. I have told my doctor about this but we are waiting on blood work to come back.

Carol,
Ice helps me with my feet, you can get one of those bags that you can refill with ice for about $10 at pharmacies or Dollar General even. You might want to roll a small towel under your neck and see if that helps or get a neck pillow????
Ok I will try the ice and a neck pillow. I had bought a therpeutic pillow that cost me nearly $200 dollars and it didn't work if anything it made it hurt even more, but in the store I tried one out and it was nice, I guess after sleeping on it for a while it didn't work anymore. Thank you I'll give the others a try.

Interesting! Thank you all for replying...
I want to respond to all of you one by one, but that would take me forever. So I am going to syplify it by saying , I can relate to the hand and leg issues the most. The medication issues, well I am just starting to get into those, right now I take 2 blood pressure meds, an RA med, and steroids-but I only take the steroids as 7 day packs as needed, I am not on it consitantly. I am beginning to wonder though if all the crap they have us on doesn't add more problems than help.
My right leg is usually the biggest problem. I get these deep pains in my hip and ankle, and because it causes me to walk wierd, my back ends up hurting too. I do a detox bath once a week that I find helps me relax before bedtime. It's my me time, because you have to be in the bath for about 45 minutes for it to do anything. It helps pull some of the inflamation out, and I sleep sooooo good the nights I take it. I can't do it too often, because unfortuantely I am starting to have skin problems too and it will dry my skin out. But if anyone wants me to share the info on the bath, I will be happy to.
I really hope all of you feel better, it really breaks my heart to see so many people struggling with this.
Lately my knees, tongue and under arms hurt hurt.
Hello Bobbie,
Regarding your knees hurting are they swelling or just pain as this is inflammation which lupus does cause, unless there's an underling form of Arthritis also which they've not found.
Concerning you Tongue in what manner does it hurt and underneath your arms are they swollen also...take a look at this link as it may help as it's regarding hurting and also swelling to do with lymphoma which comes with Lupus in some people. :)

Knees: Hurt, I cant see that they are swelling. Speaking of, hands swell a lot, especially when I walk.
Underarms, no swelling, just jabbing pain.
Tongue, along the right side, sharp, jabbing seems to flare up with the underarms.
Thanks for the link and response
Well there's 3 options which mainly cause this Lupus having a good old flare up in your system...some form of arthritis which you need testing for with bloods and the other is Raynauds as that can cause this issue besides.
Regarding underneath your arm you do need to see someone as it could be any autoimmune disease causing this linked to your lupus plus with the tongue also...as i've been checking for you and it's mainly for Lymph nodes and if it's those you need to get them sorted.
Please go and see your doctor because with lupus to many issues can become involved.

Whew, tomorrow is my official follow up with the rheum doc. I have blood results already that I have been researching such as positive ANA and c3 and BUN numbers. I am hoping to get an official diagnoises such as lupus tomorrow. Been sick a long time. You know how it goes.
Thank you so much. I will let you know tomorrow.
Well when you see your rheumo mention all these issues as it's very important to you.
This link may also help you on studying your bloods you already have, it's a discussion i added.
Well i realy hope the best for you because you'll know once and for all and please let me know how you get on as i would appreciate it Bobbie...yes i know how it goes and the pain we get from it all.
All my love you way :) xxx
Thank you all for these discussions. They have help me out a lot, and let me know that I am not alone with the pain I have. I too have paine in my left foot, both knees, and left had goes to sleep, when I do, and wakes up feeling like it is on fire. Today, my Rheumy did x-rays of my spine, & drew blood. Also want me to take a test to determine if my nerves are being pinched. I have been taken off the Methotrexate and put on Tramadol and a stronger dose of Naproxen, for the pain I have. I hope this works. Getting tired of having pain everyday.
I pray you all have a pain free night.
what do you mean by detox baths...i found epsom salt bath really helps greatly for my pain in hips and mid body area...that i know is not arthritis pain...more fibro pain. I stay in for couple hours. My brother as teen ager and young adult would have to take baths all night to help with pain in his intestines as well as hips like me now. Back than they rarely give anyone strong pain meds...1980s. So taking hot baths was only thing that helped...now i get how and why they helped too.
The catchy thing is if you also have RA like i do...heat can cause those area's to inflame worse so i keep feet knees out of hot bath water. It works and i get to read! Which is great distraction from pain if the book is good!

Hello lamwiam,
You learn so much from the discussions and the symptoms we suffer are so cruel and when you get a sligh rest from a flare another one is hitting you.
Well i do hope your rheumo finds out if anything is going on with you..it sounds like he'll be running an (EMG) tests "Electromyogram"...i've ad several of these in the past and they found out i had nerve damage.
Please update we on your results and how you get on.
