My son has been on Quorenic for discoid lupus diagnosed in May, he has been fine on these tablets up until last week when he had severe pain in his stomach and said his hands and feet felt all funny. He has got an appointment with the doctor this week but just spoke to him and said because his stomach has been in knots he has dropped his tablets down to one a day from two for the past 3 days. I am concerned that he has done this without consent from GP, can anyone give some advice please.
I couldn't find the drug "Quorenic" -- can you check the spelling?
Its Hydroxychloroquine, I thought there was two types of this drug - one being Plaquenil and other is Quorenic (sorry if I spelt this incorrectly)! I haven't got the tablets with me as he doesn't live at home. Was told the Plaquenil is kinder on the stomach than the type he is taking. He was diagnosed in March not May. Sorry I don't know much about all the drugs, just wondered about him dropped his meds without asking GP, he is going on Thursday.
Okay, false alarm then -- stomach pain is somewhat typical with this drug, but calling the doctor is a good idea.
