Even taking the plaquinel in the morning I still experience weird dreams and cannot sleep well sometime.

I didn’t have that feeling. But it did give me very very vivid dreams/nightmares when I took it at night. I switched to taking it in the morning, and that helped a lot.
I had the side affect you had where your heart is doing somersaults...that's a bad anxiety attack with the med, not all members get side affects but when i was put on 200mg i did have some bad affects pulled myself off the drug and i was taking mine at 2pm in the afternoon between my other meds and i was then asked to g back on it but before i did i was advised by someone i know who took the drug to take it at night before going to bed as apparentley your sleeping the side affects off...i did this and just had several days of nausea and "Whippy" nothing since.
If you can try what i've recommended and master the drug it's excellent for DLE besides SLE.
What dosage have you been started on if you don't mind me asking?
Terri :)
P.S When i mentioned pulling myself off the drug which i did...i had the shakes bad, i re-took it and chipped at the tablet for 7 days and no affect then.
All i'm saying is just don't pull off the drug, if you decide you don't want to take it, swain off it daily.
@Terri, you should not give advise to someone to wing themselves off of a drug as poten as Plaquenil on their own they need to do it under the direction of their Dr. you may cause them to have another more serious affect from trying it themselves and you should not diagnose someones symptoms as anxiety, you should tell them to contact their Dr.
I mentioned coming off the drug as some members have done it and made themselves ill....i was not intentionally saying come off it...as i read earlier she mentioned cutting the tablet in half.
I am not diagnosing her symptoms and i know i'm not a doctor but i had the same symptom and was told it was anxiety which the plaquenil was causing.
I do know what i should say and regarding seeing their doctor....i do not go diagnosing members as i'm not a doctor to do so...just giving experience and advice.
Hi, for me i've been on plaquenil for now 2 years and it has not give me any side affects like that . I've had to have my eyes checked and now wear glasses. I take mine in the mornings around 7-8 am , which i guess it helps - i don't take blood pressure pills - so i really can't say if the two at the same time is not working together (maybe you need to change the time to take them seperately ???-maybe) ask you doctor about this also on your next visit with him , take care ...Beverly L.
