This is a great group, you will find great info and make good friends! I do not have a full Lupus Dx yet, but have other autoimmune diseases fully diagnosed, you may want to be honest with your Dr, they will be able to help you much more.
I made a comment earlier in what you posted. I am now in Oklahoma, but was living in Clearwater, Fl when I was first diagnosed. My Rhematologist was Dr. Nagibiana, possibly spelled it wrong. I had went to another rheumy in Clearwater who was close to the other Morton Plant hospital. That Dr was okay but his NP who you always see was a little koo-koo.
They treated me based on my symptoms for first RA. I responded to the treatment which at that times was methotrexate and Enbrel Injections. Had a pos ANA in 1999 and since then neg ANA and RA. At the time I was working at Morton in Clearwater in ER then Cardiac floor. Later I took a position in the clinical research dept so that I was not on my feet all the time. This did help until 2006 when I went in for a ERCP in Missouri and the dr perforated my bowel, that in turn collapsed my right lung. emergency OR and then 3 weeks in ICU and a total of 9 weeks in the hospital. Problem during my hospital stay was septic. It took my PCP to finally in 2008 to run more tests. My SLE was negative but the compliment test was positive. After May 2008 finally accepted that work was not going to make me better and I went on disability. Currently I take MTX and Remicade infusions, just now seeing my kidney tests to elevate.
Keep in touch and hope you find help with your pain soon.
Just got a note about this months St petersburg Lupus support group.... Not sure if you've found a group or not but here is one meeting this weekend in St. pete. I can connect you with the group facilitator if youd like:
I wanted to remind everyone that our meeting is Saturday January fifth at Saint Anthony's Hospital and in our normal classroom from 1 to 3 p.m.
I was out of town for this meeting but please let let me know the date of next months meeting so I can mark my calendar and make sure I don't schedule work on that date.
