Have you ever experienced...? please pass on what wisdom you can

Hi Terri

My daughter went to live with her dad this year. And although I miss her everyday, we talk daily and she's here every week. She was here last night, and changed her plans abruptly and I had to rush her home after I got off work, and then rush to pick up my son after he got off work. Its about 45 minute drive each way to her dad's, so by the time I rushed around and everything after another hot day at work, I was exhausted. She doesn't understand my lupus yet, but my dear husband said lets order a pizza and he went to get it when I got back. I napped for about 10 minutes when he went to go get it lol. I love my daughter so much, but she is living out in the country away from all the other stuff or I might be telling you a different story. She's my rebel lol. Her hyperactivity causes alot of stress to me. I can feel her energy - its like being around the tazmanian devil on the bugs bunny cartoons lol.

Hugs to you Terri, hope you're having a good day! : )

The thing is is my dr does not take me seriously, is giving off the feelings that he's just giving me meds to shut me up. He's also trying to say my GP is the one whoes suppose to be treating me for everything. he isn't stepping up to the plate and being what a rheumatologist should be. were playing tag with drs and insurance trying to get me into an old rhemy i used to see who knew and didn't question i had lupus and was beginning to actively try to treat the symptoms. the only reason i had to leave from his care is cuz of insurance changes :P

Hi Sweet Shortie,

I may have already answered this somewhere?

Question One: YES. I have a rare arrhythmia associated with Lupus that causes my resting heart rate to go up to 280+. You don't even want to know what my active hr is! The reason it is different from other more common arrhythmia's and that it is difficult to repair and control is that it also "lowers" my already low bp instead of raising it while it is occurring. I have extreme chest pains, shortness of breath and palpitations while this is going on. I've had several surgeries for the condition - it used to happen every 15 minutes prior to the surgeries. Now it only happens once every 1 or 2 hours.

I do not know about the common arrhythmia (as it is a common issue among lots of people) that you are describing being caused by Lupus - but the rare one that I have is related to Adrenal and Heart Involvement in Lupus. I have to see a special special EP Cardiologist for the stupid thing. There are only 4 in the US who understand and can treat my particular arrhythmia. The other arrhythmia's can be treated with meds - usually with much success and probably by a regular Cardiologist. This also happens with anxiety attacks.

Question 2: Those sound like basic starting off meds. Perhaps they will even work! :)

Question 3: I'm lost as I don't understand what he is undermining. The meds sound correct. It is a lot of trial and error since there is no cure. He has to have a chance to let these meds work or not work before he tries much else. If you are worried, you should get a second opinion.

Question 4: I am not being rude or sarcastic - Promise! The only thing that helps me sleep is the sleep aid. Take it, you will sleep! LOL :)

I'm just being direct here Sweet - I want you to feel better. Maybe just see if anything gets relieved, keeping in mind that there is no cure. The doc might at least be able to cure your sleep, rashes, anxiety and a couple of other things. It is slow go!

Let us know what you decide to do!

:) Hugs - Ang/Draginfli
